Don’t forget your meta tags, keywords, description

So you have your new website up and running.  Did you set your meta keywords yet?

After your site is all done and setup, it is easy to forget all about your meta keywords and your site name. If you didn’t do it when you set the site up initially, you may not notice it until it hits Google and you might be left with a goofy page description when people search for your site.
If you want to have some fun, google the default Joomla meta description. Generally you will see a ton of people who forgot to change it.

Anyhow, let me tell you how to change it.

Joomla 1.5 – Go to you Joomla back end and go to site->global config-> then find the meta data area and fill it in.

Joomla 1.6 – By default this new version has no meta info included by default.

While Google does not exclusivly use this data for page ranking or searching, it is still used in the Google algorithm. Do not use too many keywords, or attempt to pad this area with fake info like Megan Fox nude, or Brittany Spears sex tape to help bolster your site rank. It won’t work.
